CONSULTATION & DESIGN

Besides our professional CAD designs, we can also provide consultation services and can help you stay ahead of the curve with strategic technology planning.  We will work with your architect or general contractor to ensure that the building specifications, electrical requirements and HVAC considerations are met and within the standard guidelines for studios or control rooms.

Let us help you with your project from the start.  Have an idea in mind but not sure how to get there?   We will take your idea and your feedback along the way to make it into a reality.  We can help you develop your budget, design your system, and get the results that you want.

We recently completed a 4K studio project in a newly renovated space inside the Student Union building at Duquesne University.  The leadership at the school wanted to bring attention to their media arts and broadcast center that borders Academic Walk.  We worked with the architects and contractors to design a head-turning studio enclosed in glass that really shows off the technology.

Students and visitors can't miss the 98" NEC 4K monitor on the back wall of the studio.  The NewTek TC2 Elite switcher drives the broadcast shows that are shot with Panasonic AW-UE150K 4K PTZ cameras.  The operators communicate with the ClearCom FreeSpeak II intercom system and using the AJA KUMO router and OpenGear converter cards, video and audio sources of any kind can be sent to the switcher and monitors.

We also took advantage of existing fiber between the Student Union and College Hall to connect this system with a secondary studio and control room via NDI, as well as to the student radio station using MultiDyne converters.  Four Adobe edit and graphics systems are located in the control room, and elements are easily shared between all of the users.

FEATURED PROJECT:

We recently completed designing and integrating a brand-new studio and control room at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. They wanted a state of the art system that would be used for lecture capture, online course distribution and several other productions.  They wanted the ability to stream their production and to record each camera individually.  The media captured would be edited with Adobe in multiple locations across campus.

The university brought us in at the very beginning of the project to attend meetings with the architect, contractors, and representatives of the faculty who wanted to be sure that the end product was flexible enough for their needs.  We helped them to develop their budget, and were able to navigate them towards the ideal studio environment. We worked with their project manager who coordinated the renovation and our integration schedule.

The system was built around Sony PXW400 triax cameras and a NewTek TriCaster 8000 production switcher.  It also features a Clear-Com FreeSpeak II wireless intercom system, EditShare media storage and LTO 7 archiving.   We helped to design a custom podium with built in touchscreen monitors that feed into their switcher and to multiple displays within in the studio.   The system is flexible enough to be operated by a single user or a team of faculty and students.  The university uses the system as a teaching environment and to create high quality productions of many different formats.

“Texolve was a reliable partner from the word "go".  Their responsive and highly knowledgeable staff collaborated with our architect, physical plant dept., IT dept., and our marketing dept, to design and install a new video production studio for our online course offerings.  Their experience was evident as they navigated several challenges and setbacks, offering solutions and remaining flexible and patient.  Even after the initial scope of work was completed, their follow-up support continues to improve our workspace.”

Working closely with the Fox Sports Ohio regional staff, we developed a conceptual and detailed design for a brand-new studio, control room, audio room and ingest area at their Cincinnati location.  To help with budget constraints, we were able to repurpose some existing equipment to be used alongside new purchases.  While they were still using their previous system, we removed a large amount of unused cable throughout the facility and rewired the renovated space.  And since they were still on air during the integration, we minimized our on-site labor by pre-cutting and terminating a lot of the new cable at our Pittsburgh warehouse.

CLEVELAND

Fox Sports Ohio contacted us about moving their facility from Broadview Heights, OH into a newly renovated space in downtown Cleveland.  We worked alongside the general contractor while they were renovating the new construction space, and we developed a detailed design as well as an installation timeline.  With input and feedback from the Fox Engineering staff we created a state of the art facility that includes two studios, two control rooms, two audio control rooms, a media ingest area, camera shading and playback position and multiple editing suites, all of which tie back to a large centralized equipment room. Evertz is the driving force of the equipment room with Magmum routing and terminal gear.  Other features of the system include products from Riedel, Grass Valley and SSL.  This newly constructed facility is at the top of its class.

FEATURED PROJECT:

Our design incorporated new equipment with existing hardware, which leveraged their budget and expanded their system.  The studio features three JVC cameras in a renovated production space.  A NewTek Tricaster switcher was installed along with a TelVue HyperCaster IP server, which distributes their productions onto four campus channels.  Additional phases of this project included adding a Sony PTZ camera and recording system into their chapel, along with several upgrades to multiple AV rooms using Extron presentation switchers.
